Show The other time lie was ( 1258 125S ) there was in the forepart of 1905 , on a different trip . He left the Colorado iii the spring of 1906 and was not back until about ( 1925 199-5 ) , , when he went into the river at the mouth of Hanson Creek , and did some placer mining at the California Bar . ( R . 4940 . ) He was there for about ( three tliree ) months , and Charlie Hunt was ( work- work ) ing for him . He ( hauled bauled ) his supplies to the mouth of Hanson Creek by team and took them up the river and across to the California Bar by boat . At that time there were no other parties placer ( inh-i- inhi ) ing that ( lie he ) knew of . He took a trip to the ( Olyrnpia Olympia ) Bar to get some mining equipment , and also made a trip to the old dredge to get some things . He was using a small ( sixteen-foot sixteenfoot ) flat bottom boat about three feet wide , and a draft of only a few inches empty , and not a great draft loaded . ( R . 4941 . ) This trip was his last trip on the Colorado River . During the period of nineteen or twenty years that he was away from the river , between 1905 or 1906 and 1925 or 1926 , he noticed very little change in the bed of the river or in the river . It looked about the same and everything seemed natural . . In . his experience on the Colorado River there were times when a big flood came down some of the side canyons , which would carry in sediment that would push the river towards the opposite bank for a short period of time , but from his experience there would always be a channel to go up or down the river .
