Show He owned a ( farm farin ) on , the 1327 river about two miles below Moab and used a boat to go up and down the river from his ( farm farni ) to town and back . He continued ( oper- oper ) ating the blacksmith shop in Moab but lived at the farm and made the round trip back and forth on the river . Supplies for the farm were hauled from Moab down to the river and boated down to the farm , the farm being on the opposite side of the river from Moab . A boat was kept there for the purpose of crossing back and forth and boating up and down the river . ( R . 5184-5185 . ) He remembers seeing lumber hauled up to Moab from the river but the only raft he ever saw on the river was the one that he brought down . Montgomery , a carpenter by trade , had a shop near his [ ( Grimm's Grimms ) ] blacksmith shop and during that time he saw lumber that was hauled from the river up to the carpenter shop , and this lumber that was brought up from the river could have got there only by raft .
