Show the channel ; that is , they 1214 indy nose up close enough to see the water washing up , then they edge out a little and keep going around through the channel . ( R . ( 4800-4801 480.0-4801 ) . ) He ( doesn't doesnt ) believe the real channel changes ( ex- ex ) cept in extreme low water when the channel runs from one side to the other . In high water the ( cur- cur ) ( rent Tent ) will probably go the other way . The current is going with the channel in the first instance , but the strong part of it will probably cross over the other way and form an eddy where the ( low-water lowwater ) ( channel chatnel ) is and there may be a small bar from where this eddy comes down and connects with the main channel for a little way ; a little pointed bar where the eddy goes in next to the bank and comes over and strikes the current of the river . If he makes it up beyond this point he has to come back , go ( around a-round around ) it and go out in the swift water . This is the only difference that he sees in the ( channel chdnnel ) and is the only type of unstability that he has noticed . ( "What What What ) he meant when he said he was never stuck with the Marguerite was that he always got through . He did not mean he never hit a sand bar . ( R . 4802 . ) Deft . ( 's s ) Ex . No . 20 is a picture taken on the ( Colo- Colo ) rado and shows the engineers going down the Colorado from Halls Crossing . It also shows an obstruction on the side of the river that causes the sand bar to form on the side of the bank . . ( R . . 4803-4804 . ) |
