Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( R . 5277-5278 . ) Picture No . 2 is the same boat . Picture No . 3 is the day of the launching of the Cliff ( Dweller Dive7ler ) and shows the Cliff ( Dweller Diveller ) on that day . Picture No . 4 ( was Nvas ) known to him as ( "Anvil Anvil ) Bluff , " located about twenty * miles below the railroad , just above Tom ( Wimnier's Wimniers Win-inier's Wininiers ) ranch . Picture No . 5 is a picture of the Cliff Dweller as it was finished from the hull , and ( be- be ) fore it was launched . Picture No . 6 is of the Cliff ( Dweller Dwe7ler ) as it emerged from the main box canyon at ( "Wolverton's Wolvertons Wolverton's Wolvertons ) ranch . This ( was -was was ) after the name had been changed to the City of ( Moab llfoab ) . JR . 5278- 5279 . ) It was coming upstream . Picture No . 7 is the same boat after he had refueled it at ( Wolver Wolver- Wolver ) ¬ ( ton's tons ) ranch . He loaned them about thirty gallons of gasoline . They used gasoline on that trip . ( Pic Pic- Pic ) ¬ ture No . 8 is ( Wolverton's Wolvertons ) Wilmont at ( Wolverton's Wolvertons ) ranch , going downstream . Picture No . 9 is the Wilmont again , going downstream . Picture No . 10 the mouth of three canyons about ten miles below ( Wolverton's Wolvertons Wol-verton's Wolvertons ) ranch . ( R . 5280 . ) Picture No . 11 the lower side of Bowknot bend on the Green River . Picture No . 12 is the Cliff Dweller on Fort Bottom . Picture No . 13 is what was called ( Orescent Crescent ) Buttes just back of Townsite Bottom . Picture No . 14 is a picture of R . L .
