Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

On August 13 the ( depth deptli ) of the ( wator Nvatqr ) wa 14.2 feet ; the difference between this and 14.4 is . 2 . i ( B . 3931 . ) The readings which appear on the chart ( vcjre ware ) ( taksn takegi ) at the same time he took his samples . Readings for maximums and others that gave representative figures were taken at different periods . In taking the measurements ( he lie ) used a one hundred pound weight ( attached attaclied ) to the end of the cable , and . they were ( taken talmn ) ( from froin ) the cable car which crosses the , river at Goodrich . Compl . ( Exli Exh ) . No . 497 is a chart which shows the : percentage [ ratio ] of silt and suspended matter carried by the river to the discharge or total flow of the river .
