Show On the Colorado below 1209 Cataract Canyon and the lower Colorado and from there on down he had what might be called trouble just once . In going downstream with the Government Party he ( com- com ) peted with his son to see who could run the fastest and he undertook to take a cut over and lodged on a sand bar . That was the nearest to any trouble that he knows of . He believes that he can do ( any- any ) thing on the lower Colorado River than ( he lie ) can or has done on the Green River with the ( same saine ) boat . ( R . 4785-4786 . ) His observation with reference to sand bars and other bars on the Green River besides washes are that some of the washes are very large and at times floods come down which will deposit a great amount of silt and sometimes rock in the river . It usually occurs in the fall when the river is lower and they will shove the river over ; make a kind of a dam and the river will wash it away again but nearly every one will create a rapid as it makes a narrow place in the river and at times they are worse than others . He has , ( how how- how ) ever , taken the Marguerite over the riffle a number of times but never just the scow . He has never been in Labyrinth or Stillwater ( Can- Can ) yons and has never seen the water so low that he could not take the ( Mw-guerite Mwguerite ) down . He has never |
