Description Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929.

He has lived in that section for a little over ten years , but he ( ha'd had had ) no , familiarity with it ( iritil iMitil ) he moved there . ( R . 5467 . ) Since moving there , he has traveled ( ov6r over ) the San Juan country in , ( Utah 'Utah Utah ) , and the country around ( Moab Moqb ) and ( Greenriver Greenrivee ) quite a little bit . He is acquainted with Elk Ridge , the Blue and ( LaSal LaSa-I LaSaI ) Mountain sections , and ( he lie ) has * seen the forests on the Elk Ridge and ( the'Blue theBlue ) ( Moun Moun- Moun ) ¬ tains ; also the LaSal Mountains . He knows that these forests are of rather large extent , consisting , in the main of western yellow pine on Elk Ridge and , Blue Mountains and quite a good deal of yellow pine on the LaSal Mountains ; also Engleman spruce and , some fir on the Blue Mountains .
