Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

It was carried across river in tunnel boat ; ( ( B R ) . 3213 . ) Colorado River Channel shifts from time to time ; during high water or immediately after ; ( obstruc obstrue- obstrue ) tion causes current to run over and bore under it ; shift % or % the distance of river . ( ( B R ) . 3218 . ) Knows of tNio or three islands that ( had bad ) timber on . them which disappeared . ( R . 3219 . ) River ( works -works works ) fast cutting banks out . ( R . 3219 . ) Current ( causes causqs ) whirls . - Going downstream , can not always find channel in same place ; changes from one side of river to the other .
