Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

There would be a strip frozen over solid a mile or two and then a strip of open water for a quarter of a mile , and it ( wasn't wasnt ) safe to go on it ( and alid ) so ( he lie ) stayed for a month ( until initil ) it was safe . ( R . 4446 . ) He would accidently run up against a sand bar sometimes , and he has done this at different times , but would just push off and go ahead .
