Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( Sheet f3heet ) 39 was partly prepared 994 by him and partly by the Reclamation Service . Sheet 38 was prepared by , him . Sheet 37 was prepared partly by himself and partly by the Reclamation Service . ( R . 3873-3874 . ) . That brings it down to Greenriver , Utah . ( ( K R ) . 3874 . ) The sheets just referred to which were prepared by : : Schnurr and the Reclamation Service are on file in the Department of the Interior . After reaching the Colorado River in 1921 he did ( some -some some ) work there between the mouth of the San Juan ( for 'for for ) a distance of ( twenty-five twentyfive ) or ( twenty-six twentysix ) miles down the river . He prepared all of his own work , extending from about ( Mile i'dile idile ) 78 on the Colorado River to about Mile 51 on the river . This work is indicated on sheets 4 5 and 6 of Compl . Exh . No . 10 . , , ( The 'The The ) profile sheet in the back of Compl . Exh . 107 , showing the particular sections of the river on which he worked , were prepared by him ( from frorn ) data obtained ( while -while while ) he was in the field . ( R . 3875-3876 . ) In surveying a rapid , elevations were taken both ( -at at ) the head and at the foot of the rapid , which would ( give -give give ) the fall of the rapid .
