Before they reached there they blew out some water tubes in the boiler and had quite a bit of other trouble . The boat had a draft of about twelve inches with a very light load ( con- con ) sisting of a little wood , bedding , and camp equipment . This boat was ( twenty-seven twentyseven ) feet long , six and a half feet abeam , and was equipped with a ( fourteen-horsepower fourteenhorsepower ) gas engine , stern paddle wheel , and drew about eight inches of water .
