Show 1285 country , but it is possible to get through with a truck . This road traverses country away from the riverV going firom Moab toward Monticello , and then down , . Indian Creek to Lockhart there is not a direct road . . ( R . . 5038 . . ) That point [ Lockhart ] could not be reached except by a road that went a long way from the river at places . There is no road that reaches the river between the Shafer No . 1 well and Lockhart . . It would not be feasible or practicable to construct a road to any other points on the river , on account of the high cliffs and broken country . ( R . 5038-5040 . ) A notebook containing ( lead-pencil leadpencil ) writing is ( rec- rec ) ognized by him as his ( mother's mothers ) handwriting and the diary spoken of . ( R . 5040 . ) He knows of his own personal knowledge that the diary is a correct ( state- state ) ment of the trips made by Virgil Baldwin on the big barge , , as well as some entries concerning trips made by him on other boats . He does not know whether the diary contains all of the small trips made by his brother , , but it does contain all of the trips he made on the big barge . ( R . . 5040-5041 . ) By using his ( mother's mothers ) diary he would be able to state of his own knowledge that each item with ( refer- refer ) ence to the big boat is correct , because she made a record of each trip . ( R . . 5042 . ) In the ordinary course of business operations his company keeps books of the tonnage which was ( trans- trans ) ported the trucks , but it has not a complete record of the tonnage hauled on the boats and the charges received . The only record of materials transported |
