Show That section in the 1391 Henry Mountains has not been thoroughly explored or prospected . It is a wild , uninhabited , sparsely settled country . The mountains are remarkably steep and broken and are quite heavily timbered . His nearest neighbor is eight miles away . The timber extends twenty miles north and south and ten miles east and west , and straight across country , it is about eighteen miles to the Colorado River . His property is located near Mt . Pennell on Straight Creek , where the headwaters of Trachyte Creek are formed . ( R . 5396 . ) There are very poor roads available from the Henry Mountain region to the Colorado River . He can go down Trachyte Creek and cross over to North Wash and down North Wash , coming out above Hite . He ( hasn't hasnt ) been over the . road from the Henry Mountain region down Hanson Creek for several years . There is a road available down Halls Creek , which can be traveled on by teams and wagons . To get to Torrey , he has to go around by ( Hanks- Hanks ) ( ville viHe ) and the same thing is true to get to Escalante . Practically all of the road communication for that region comes via Hanksville .
