Show On the San Juan River 972 , between August 12th and September 21st , 1928 , about 570 silt samples were taken ; and in the summer of 1929 a special observer was sent to the San Juan River from Washington , in addition to the regular observer , and about 700 silt samples were taken , between the 10th of July and . the 21st of September . ( ( E R ) . 3798 . ) ( At kt ) Greenriver and Cisco , Utah , samples have been taken daily since August ( 1st Ist ) , 1928 . ( R . 3798 . ) During the entire period they have taken about ( 5,000 6,000 ) silt samples and 3,500 water samples . ( R . 3799 . ) In 1927 Water Supply Paper No . ( 596-B 596B ) was ( pre- pre ) pared by Chief of Quality of Water Division Collins and Mr . Howard , and the paper contains the results of the first ( year's years ) work on the dissolved material and the amount of suspended matter found in the samples taken . ( R . 3799-3800 . ) This report , Water Supply Paper ( 596-B 596B ) , does not deal with any part of the Colorado River north of Lees Ferry . In July , 1928 , the same author and witness published an article in the ( Architectural "Architectural Architectural ) Engineering and Industrial ( Chemistry Chemistry" Chemistry ) Magazine entitled ( Dissolved "Dissolved Dissolved ) and Suspended Mineral Matter in the Colorado River , " and this article contains the same results as are in Water Supply Paper ( 596-B 596B ) ( , . ) together with the determinations of suspended ( mat -niat- niat ) ter at Bright Angel and Topock .
