( R . 3630 ) At Hite during low water , there is quite a bar or island generally in the river , but in extreme high water the island is entirely covered to a ( depth deptb ) of approximately twenty feet . There is a road out from ( North Torth ) Wash on the west side of the Colorado ; the last work he did in that country being to help build that road ( from froin ) Hite . The Trachyte Road had to be abandoned because of destruction caused by floods . The road from Hite to North ( Wash AArash ) was on the west side of the river . There is no road from Hite down to Hanson Creek on either side of the river .
