Show river , at first the channel 1294 will be different , but it will gradually fall right back where it was the year before ( ; - ) there is new silt put in there , it will leave it different . ( R . 5074-5075 ) The same trouble occurs to a certain extent after the storms in August and September , but it ( doesn't doesnt ) amount to much . This trouble occurs at the mouth of the canyons or side washes and for a mile or so below . There is a different arrangement of the sand bars after the spring floods all along the river for a little while . ( R . 5075 . ) ( Don't Dont ) get the same effect after a heavy rain ; it ( don't dont ) raise the river , you know ; throw a flood in there it ( won't wont ) raise the river only ( six -six six ) or eight inches ; it will spread out after the flood empties into the river ; it is not like the high water from the snow melting in the mountains . ( R . 5075- . 5076 . ) This condition will continue after the flood reaches a height of six or eight feet , when you have a little change all the way down the river for a short time , then the river will drop back to ( where Nvhere ) it ( origi- origi ) nally was and continues until another flood . There is a flood once in a while in September , but not so ( much inuch ) . as in July and August . ( R . 5076 . ) They have thought about locating the dock a mile or a mile and a half further down the river below Courthouse Wash and Mill Creek , where there is . room for a very good dock to be built ; however , there is much sand there , and it would cost ( consider consider- consider ) able to fix a road over there for the trucks to get to the dock . ( R . 5077 . ) Once in a while they get sand |
