Show to the ( clam dain ) site where 1182 the power house was to be . built . ( ( B R ) . 4682 . ) He started from Elgin , ( which Nviiiell ) is ( on oil ) the east ( side- side side ) or the opposite bank of the river from Greenriver , Utah . . Elgin is quite a town . He started on this trip on May ( twenty-seventh twentyseventh ) , and got back on June 26 , 1908 . The first night he got down to what was called Tenmile , about ( forty-two fortytwo ) miles below Elgin , . as ( he lie ) remembers . The next night ( he lie ) camped at Barrier Creek ; and the next forenoon he reached the bottom , at the head of Cataract ( Canyon Cauvon ) , or as far as he wanted to go . ( R . ( 4683 46S3 ) . ) He stayed there three or four days , as he remembers , and then came back . He believes they were two and a half days coming back , and had reached a point about fifteen miles below Greenriver , or Elgin , when the engine broke . He ( doesn't doesnt ) know what was broken but , Oppenheimer said he would have to go to ( Green- Green ) ( river Tiver ) , and get his big boat . They rowed over to the shore , and he camped there that night , while ( Oppen Oppen- Oppen ) ¬ heimer walked to Greenriver , and came down the next day with a ( stern-wheel sternwheel ) boat . To the best of his recollection , the boat was about twelve or fourteen feet wide , and about thirty or ( thirty-five thirtyfive ) feet long . The stern ( wheel -wheel wheel ) was about six or seven ( feet -feet feet ) in diameter , and was driven by a steam engine , as he remembers , and drew about a foot and a ( quar- quar ) ter of water . The broken boat had all their ( equip- equip ) ment in it , and they tied it to the rear of the ( stern- stern ) ( wheel -wheel wheel ) boat , and went right up to Greenriver ; left |
