Part ll. salted with the influence of the Sun, Moon, and other Planets) rendring the frrbi‘iance of the Air more thin and Spirituous, and its Elaltick Particles mofl; aftive and brisk, and making it more apt to infinnate it felf into the inward v i'cceiles of Aliment, and to enlarge its Compage. C H A P. XXXII. And when the bloat is hightned by thefe choice Difpofitions, it is tranl‘. 17in [Jo/05y 0/. the (mailing Faculty of the Stomach. mitted from the Month through the Gulet into the Stomach, Where it is im. proved by various i'crments flowing out of the Terminations of the Nerves and Armies ( into the Cavity of the Stomach) which raife a Fermentation in the Meat and Drink, by exciting their contrary Elements to Intefiine Morion. The Liquor (dropping out of the Extreamitics of the Nerves, into the bofomc of the Stomach) is infpircd with fine Animal Spirits, and exalted with Volatil Saline Particles; which being of a lirbtle Conltitution, enobled with Spirituous parts, are eaflly received by fecrct paifages, into the body of the Aliment (lodged in the Kitchin of the Stomach) affected with Inte. fiine Motion, by flirting up the contrary principles of the Nourilhmerit. And the Nervous Juice, is alfo made up of many Minute parts, adorned "Flirting Treated of the appetitivc Faculty, confriling of Humor and Thiri't; and of the retentive Faculty, and of their ObjectsD Difpolirions, Carries, parts Affected, (and Pathology) as Handmaids to ihe Contoc'tive Faculty, and of its different Fetments, Matter, and Manner ofthe production of Chyle, my intendmcnr at this time, is to entertain the Courfi tcous Reader with the Pathology of the Concoétivc Faculty. Pathology concerneth the dilalfeétions, as the miidemeanors of Nature and therefore I conceive it not unrealonable to lhew her Prate of Health, in integrity as a Rule, before! Treat of, her failings, as dcflcétions frorri that Rule, relating to the digefiive power of the alimentary liquor, which with various Figures, and Magnitudes, different from the folid and fluid atomes of Meat and Drink a which being endued with contrary Elements, i conceive, is produCed after this mode, and accomplilhed by divers fiepsand do enter into light with each other, and by oppofite Manners, and procelfes periods. of Operation, do bring their difagreeingTempers, by a middle allay, to an amicable Reconciliation, eonfiltent with each others fubdued Nature. The Aliment being broken into fmall parts by nitrification, impregnated Themtthod with lulival Liquor, and nitrous particles of Air, exalted with the more ficNimiitii. asthcrcal influxes of the Planets) receiveth its 51ft rudiment of Concoél'ion "328"" in the I‘V'louth, and is thence tranfmitted down the Gulet into the Stomach And the Nervous Liquor doth alfo affociate with the Serous Juice (flowing gently out of the bxtreamities of the Arteries ) feparated from the Red Craflament of the Blood, in the Glandulous Coat of the Stomach ; and this Th: Al‘m'" Serous Liquor, being acted with various faline and oily Principles, received ""1 WW" extraétrd by from the Blood, is ' conveyed _ into the Ventricle, wherein divers. Ferments "rm-""4"" ( compounded of different Minute Heterogeneous parts, of various Grapes E2233: flail: and frzes) do reduce into act, the feveral Elements of Meat and Drink, Elii‘ififii'fi whofe parts are opened by Volatil, Saline, and elafiick Atomes of divers ""3"" Ferments; whereupon the grofs, and fixed Saline, and fulphureous pans of the Aliment, are put into Fufion, and being further attenuated, and exalted, are brought to maturity, as being rendred more fubtle, and fpiritu- ous, and the more folid Atomes of the Meat being diluted, with the watry parts of a potulent Matter, are prepared, and colliquated by amoifi Heat (derived from warm Blood) extracting a White creamy Liquor, which is fevered byakind of precipitation from the more fatculent parts, (as differviceable to the Body) in order to give a due Repair to the decayed mafs of Blood, exhauf'ted byafree and confiant tranfpirarion through the fineft palfages of the Skin. , where it is farther advanced with ferous Particles (diitilling out of the ter: initiations ofthe Arteries ) and with a more choice Liquor, dr0pping out of the extreamities of the Nerves, implantedinto the inward Coat of the Ventricle, wherein it is infpired with Air, filling the empty Cavity of it, before it is accommodated with Meat and Drink. W'hereupon the Ventricle being endued with Heat, and many different Ferments opening the body of Aliment, doth extract a Milky Tinéture out of it by colliquation and afterward bya kind of precipitation, doth defaecate the alimentary Liquor from the groilcr Fazces. The great Health, and prefervation of our excellent frame of Body is "saith is chiefly fupported by the laudable Confiitution of different Ferments, as e,ach flaked by of them contribute to the production of Chyle, the Materia fubflmm of 59$;ng Blood, Animal Liquor, and Spirits, which do give Life, Senfe, Motion and °'°‘d"‘° Nourifhment to the whole Body. , Si‘d‘ili'fl‘ Thefe Fermentative Ingredients, are the main eflicients of the production fii‘i‘iiiiiif of the alimentary Juyce in the Ventricle, which hath its firfi conception in q"°" A the Month, :15 actuated with falival Liquor ( derived from parotides maxIllary and oral Glands, exalted with Air, enobled with Caeleftial irifluxes and afterward the Aliment being protruded down the [Efophagus into tilt; Ventricle , is brought to greater maturity by the new accefs of Air Con. faidcrated with Nervous and Serous Liquors, fo that thefe various Fer'menrs as endued With a good Difpofition, are infiituted by Nature to conférve on; Health by propagating a laudable Chyle, extraéted out of wholfom Meat CHAP. and Drink. ' vathefe fermenting Elements, the Grounds and Caufes of intefline Motronrn Diet, (the fupport of vital Liquor) do recede from their native Princrples, and Conf'titution 5 the wheels of nature grow in diforder, being hufrifd With irregular Motion.
