Grazing pressure by elk and deer is particularly noticeable in Little Valley Wash and Black Rock and Kessler Canyons. Winter grazing by elk in Little Valley Wash had removed virtually all standing dead vegetation from the previous year's growth. Spring growth of grasses and forbs provided limited cover at the beg'inning of the field season. Rapid spring growth and 40 ecological planning and toxicology, inc. |
