Il fut employé, pendant quelques années, à travailler ainfi fur les manufcrits de la Bibliothèque du Roy; mais cet employ n'ayant rien de fixe > ny aucuns appointemens réglez, il fe chargea de l'éducation , & prit foin des études du jeune Marquis de la Marfeliere ; il réleva jufqu'à ce qu'il fût en âge d'aller à la guerre, il l'y accompagna. Ce jeune Marcjuis étant mort > M. Pouchard revint à Paris D & fut choifî pour Gouverneur de M. de Saint Ange ; la mallieureufe étoile de ce fçavant Homme, luy fit perdre encore fon Elevé, fils unique de M. de Caumartin Confeiller d'Etat, & Intendant des Finances D dans la première année que ce jeune Seigneur entroit dans le monde 3 où il faifoit paroître un heureux naturel cultivé par une belle éducation. Le regret que M. Pouchard eut de cette mort, ne luy permit pas de fe rengager dans ces fortes d'emplois. Il fubfîfta depuis par les penfîons dont ks fervices avoient été recompenfez.
