Pour dérober aux efprits fougueux la nourriture qui les entretient, il n'y a pas, félon lui, de'meilleur moyen que la faignée, mais il ne faut pas la différer ; car dans l'état de la maladie elle n'eft plus de faifon : notre Auteur marque ici plufîeurs cas qui doivent empêcher le Médecin d'ordonner la (ai-enée dans la phrenefîe. Un autre moyen pour dérober aux eipnts animaux la matière qui les .nourrit, c'en de purger les premières voyes 3 foit par des breuvages, foit par des lavemeas. Il vient aux autres indications, & enfeigne d'une manière fort exafte comment on y doit fatisfaire* Dans le chapitre de la mclancholie , il prétend qu'il n'y a point d'humeur melan-cliolique en particulier, mais que dans cette maladie tous les fucs font également altérez : il fait voir que le pancréas Se la ràt-te font fort innocens des maux dont on les aceufe dans cette occafîon , & que tous les accidens dont les melancholiqucs font attaquez , ne viennent que de la crudité & de tacretc d$$ humeurs. |
