La plus commune des Epoques eft celle de la naiflànce de Jefus-Chrift; mais notre Auteur remarque que félon la plupart desChro-nologiftes, elle n'a commencé d'être enufa-ge dans l'Occident que vers le temps de Charles-le Chauve ; & que les- Chrétiens Grecs, & Abyfiîns fe fervent encore de l'Epoque Grecque de la Création du monde, & les Chrétiens d'Egypte de l'Ere des Martyrs. 11 croit que la naiffance de Jefus-Chrift eft plus ancienne de deux ans que ne la marque l'Ere vulgaire. Selon cette opinion l'année prefente Teroit la 1708e, depuis la naiilance ds JfChi& fusChri& Au &)et des Fêtes des Chrétiens,Monfîeur Schurefleifch parle de la règle que le premier Concile de Nicée établit pour fixer le jour de Pâques; & il prend de là occafondej* |
