Show 5270 Chaffin- D 3282 bad water, and we had a little trouble with our small boats, getting over there. I waited until it raised to move this stuff down, made me some beats and rafts. Had the raft ready to put the stuff on for some time. The river came up, and I went down with it. The the head of what we call Mysterious rapid, or the Amphi theatre rapid, between Bull Frog rapid and Hanson creek rapid, I got on the rooks there with the raft; good deal tore up, but didn't lose anything. Got it off. Going over Bull Frof the river was pretty bad, the wind was blowing bad. I broke a boat in two. Had a couple of twenty- four foot boats. I had one loaded with iron. Going over there it broke one of those boats in two. Q Just what point was that? A At Bull Frog rapids. I had seven boats and this raft. I had one of the other boats up close to me. I was in the boat that broke. We got into the other boat, and she sunk. We saved some of the stuff, and got the boat out. I consider that my own carelessness. Can't tell how that was.
