Show 5152 Bennett- C 3164 water in. Q Pay attention to my question, Mr. Bennett. You wish to be understood as saying, do you, that you got out, got in the river, walked clear from one side of the river to the other for the purpose of finding out just what the depth was from one side to the other? A Just what was that? THE SPECIAL MASTER: Read the question. ( The reporter read the last preceding question.) A Yes, and on account of my own curiosity as to the depth of it. Q You had some curiosity, besides? A Certainly. Q And just about how wide was the river at that point? A The river at that point is about three hundred and fifty or four hundred feet wide during the low water. Q Three hundred and fifty or four hundred feet wide? A Yes sir. Q What month was that? A That was November, if I remember correctly. Q Of what year? A 1930. Q And did you make a note of any character with reference to the location of that portion of the river where the depth was two feet? A Nothing only my own personal diary. |
