Show 5052 F. Johnson- D 3064 Q Did you see any coal? A No sir, I don't remember seeing any coal at all. Q How many times after that did you see the Spencer? A The boat was tied up some time in the early part of 1912, and Mr. Spencer, Charles E. Spencer, asked us who were is, that the ropes were kept tight. There was a plank tied to the boat and in to the shore to keep it from getting close to the rocks and wearing holes in the side. Practically every day from that time on while I was there I saw this boat. It was right beside the road. We would nearly always stop and go to see that the boat was all right. Q How many trips do you know of that boat having made up and down stream? MR. FARSWORTH: I understand the witness has stated he never saw it until it was tied up. MR. BLACKMAR: You is understood him. He testified he saw it come in the first time. MR. FARSWORTH: It was already in, he said. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Find out whether did or not. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Do you know how many trips the Charles H. Spencer made? BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Do you know of your own, personal knowledge? |
