Q When was the next motor boat you had in commission on the river? A I put another boat on I think in about 1905 or 1906, something of that kind. Q What kind of boat was that? A That was a propeller. Q Beg pardon? A It was a propeller boat. I don't remember the year. Q Was it a boat you built yourself? A No, I bough it of Mr. Nokey at Green river and took it down, hauled it down to the Colorado river, to the mouth of North wash. Q That is, you took it in overland by way of Hanksville? A Yes sir. Q And then down brought what wash? A Through North wash to the Colorado, and there I launched it, at the mouth of North wash. Q For what purpose did you use that boat? A I used it to run up and down the river. Q Between what points? A There is a good trail, fairly good trail, to Good Hope from Hite. I had pack animals. Sometimes I would pack |
