Show 5203 F. Bennett- D 3215 lost it. Swirled down. It was loaded pretty heavy. Went out of eight. Some of the light stuff that wasn't tied on drifted off. It bobbed up again a little that ways further. It went clear out of sight. I thought it was gone. Q Did you get hung up any on that trip? A I haven't any recollection of getting hung up any. I don't think we did, because we made the trip in a short day, less than a day, anyway. Q In connection with the operations, do you remember of having built other rafts? A Yes sir. Q There were two other rafts, weren't there? A There was one other raft. I worked on that. Then I came out to Salt Lake. I was part or the time here. And there was another raft built. I told the boys to built one. I wasn't there then. Q Where was the second raft built? A The second raft was built at Hall's crossing -- no, we went up the river to Hite, and picked up part of that raft as we came down, and brought some move stuff down. Q Did you have any timber shipped in from Hanksville or any place else? A Not for that raft. Q All your wood was picked up on the river? A Yes. |
