Show 5165 F. Bennett- D 3177 A I remained there until about some time in November, and then I went to Richfield and came out to Salt Lake, got supplies and so on. Q How did you go into Richfield? A Went into Richfield with a team from the Colorado river. Q Where did you get the team? A Team Mr. Ryan, the man I went in with, on the California bar, he had some horses on the California bar. Q What creek or gulch did you go out? A Went up Hanson creek. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was there a road there? A Yes; very poor road, but managed to travel it. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q How long did you stay out on that trip? A Perhaps fifteen days. Q Did you come back the same way? A Yes sir. Q After you came down Hanson creek what did you do with your supplies, where did you take them? A Took them to the California bar on the opposite side from Hanson creek. Q How far is the California bar from Hanson creek? A The lower end of the California bar is just across the Colorado river, I would say five of six hundred feet,-- seven or eight hundred feet. |
