A It was lumber that I had on my outfit, if I remember-- yes, it was lumber. Q How did it get into Loa? A It was sawed there from the sawmills and brought there, in the hills close. Q Do you recall what particular gulch you hit the Colorado river on? A We went from Loa by way of Notom, down what is now called Hall's creek, Water Pocket canyon, along the edge of Water Pocket fold, down to what is known as Hall's cabin, within about ten miles of the Colorado river, from there across over into Alcove or Hanson creek, then down Hanson creek. Hit the river at the mouth of Hanson creek or Smith's bar. Q When you got to the mouth of Hanson creek, what did you do with your load? |
