A We just poled it, and rowed it up; one of us would tie it on the boat. We would get out on the bank and trail it long, and then this rope was fixed so you could turn the hind end of the boat and make it go out in the water, or in. Other places we would row it. Other places we would get hold of the end and wade up the creek and pull her up over the bad places. Q Do you recall how long it took you to make that trip? A No, I don't; we done a lot of prospecting; as near as I remember, we was gone about three weeks. Q That is, on the up trip and the down trip? A Yes sir. Q How long did you remain there in 1892? A I remained there until in the spring of 1893; during this time I came back and went out and got some more supplies. Q You left your team there at Hanson creek? A Yes sir.
