Show 5267 Chaffin- D 3279 moved back up the river to below Hanson creek, to the Moquie bar. Q How far is the Moquie bar from Hanson creek? A I guess it's a mile and a half. The upper end of it through the ledges, just piles up the rock and turns the water until it hits under the ledge. When it hits that, it turns over to the other ledge, and leaves this bar, what is called the Moquie bar. The head of it is square below there. Q When you were on the New year bar did you bring your supplies in to Hanson creek? A Yes sir. Q Then how did you get them to the bar? A Got them down in boats. Q The same experience you had at the other trips? A Yes sir. Q When you moved on to Moquit bar, how did you get your supplies down there? A Got them down Hanson creek. Q Then how did you get them to the bar? A Took them across in a boat. Q Do you recall when you left there in 1895? A Yes, left there in June. Q When did you next return to the river? |
