Show 5243 Newby- D 3255 a mile, and it was getting late in the evening, quite cool, and I had to get out, also Mr. Kettole, and us two managed to get this Dispatch line, and we went to shore and made camp there that night, and then started out the next morning, and we had no more difficulties until we overtook Mr. Wolverton at the Narrows; there we made camp, stayed all night. The next morning we left Mr. Wolverton's skiff, and he went with us around Bowknot Bend; there were three of us in the boat. The balance of the party were on shore. They went around on foot. We went around Bowknot bend, which was nine miles around there, and we came back to the Narrows again that night and made camp. The next morning we saw a deer, and then we started up stream again with the Dispatch and the skiff Mr. Wolverton had with him. When we got up a short canyon where we had the Wilmont tied up, we proceeded up stream with the two boats, and we encountered a few sand and gravel bars until we got up to Mr. Wolverton's ranch again, where we tied up. It started in raining vary hard. I think it rained three days before we started for Greenriver, and Mr. Wolverton decided to go up to Greenriver with us and take the Wilmont, and our Dispatch boat also.
