Q So you made that ten miles up and back the same day? A Yes, we came down pretty fast; as soon as we et our supper we came down. Had no trouble coming down. Q Mr. Bennett, you spoke of an incident where you saw Cass Hite and two others with a boat loaded with provisions caught in an ice gorge. You remember mentioning that incident? A Not Cass Hite; it was Colonel Dan Hite, brother of Cass Hite. THE SPECIAL MASTER: John Hite, did he say? THE WITNESS: No, it was a brother of John Hite. Colonel Hite is dead now. BY MR.
