Show 5200 F. Bennett- D 3212 BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q How many days did it consume from the time you started until you arrived at your destination? A I haven't any data that I could tell you exactly what that was. I would say four or five days each trip, more than likely. Q How many miles was it? A I think there is a record of that, but I haven't it here. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Fifteen miles, California bar to Good Hope. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q At one time while you were in the country did you engage in some copper mining? A Yes sir. Q At what point? A At a point about nine miles from Hite up White canyon, better known as Copper Bend. Q Did you take out some ore up there? A Yes sir. Q How did you ship it out? A Shipped it out from the mine; I employed my own teams, four- mule teams, and hauled it to the Colorado river, put it in this same boat I have described, that had the tunnel in, and carried it across. It was sacked ore. |
