When we got down there, these fellows on the front end got a little scared, and run back to the back end; I went with them and straightened them up again. We were through the waves by that time, anyway. The waves ran for quite a little bit. When we got down just above Good Hope, there was a big rock point runs out there. The Good Hope people had built a race- way, and put in a wheel. They put a dam down below the head of the race- way to run the water through the race- way during low water. When we got down there we didn't want to go over the dam, so we ran close to the other side and got in a big swirl, took us around and around in there. We touched the rocks, but not hard enough to hurt anything. The circle kept getting smaller. There was one section of the raft ran up where the whirl was down -- you can look down into the whirls -- this one corner caught and stood up corner- ways; I afraid my stuff was going to slip in there.
