A Yes not always boating on the river, but on the river some certain time; I had property there all the time. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q And in this general neighborhood? A Yes, in this general neighborhood. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q That is from Hite down? A From Hite down. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Have you ever been as far down as Lees Ferry? A Yes sir. Q Do you recall what year that was in? A I am pretty positive it was in the year 1898, the latter part of 1898, in December; I think it was 1899 that we left there, that is my recollection, left there in January, 1899, I am pretty sure. Q Do you recall an occasion in 1898 when some people down there had some difficulties on the river in connection with the ice? A Yes sir. Q Just tell me about that, please, where it was. |
