Show 5177 F. Bennett- D 3189 A Yes. Q Sail right on up over the rapids? A I have went right up over the rapids, in certain stages of water. Q What stage of water did you find best for using your sail? A Generally four foot above low water mark made a very nice stage of water. Q What stage? A About four foot made the best stage of water; the water after the high water, when the water is going down, you are more successful than you are rising water. Q Is that the last motor boat that you had? A Yes, that is the last motor boat, outside of I put on a little out- board motor once in a light boat. Q How did you get along with that? A Didn't get along very well with that. Q Just tell me about it. What size boat did you put it on? A I think a fourteen- foot boat, little skiff. Q How did you get along with it? A I didn't really have the power to run the swift water. I was trying to use it in the muddy water. In a very short time the bronze wheel bearings burned out; that is, wore out so the propeller would slip. |
