Show CONCLUSION It is not easy to explain a man like Henry Eyring. The combination of self confidence, immense respect for others, deep religious faith, generosity, openness, ability to communicate, a keen sense of humor, persistent curiosity, ambition, and genius in one individual is a rare occurrence. We can turn to environment, heredity, and even to fate or divine providence for answers. It seems clear that no single cause could explain this unique combination of talent and ability. Eyring's attitude toward life presents a strong case for the positive influence parents can have on their children, particularly when they are young.. Eyring's confidence in himself, his respect for others, his generosity, his openness, his sense of humor, his ambition, and his strong religious faith were strongly influenced by his parents and to some extent by his social surroundings in Mexico and later in Arizona. These characteristics seemed ingrained in his being. On the other hand Eyring was a bright child and perhaps this can explain his remarkable ability to communicate with others at almost any level.. He was also a curious man. He has wanted to understand nature at least from his early years in high school. Only a deep curiosity and interest could drive a man for over sixty years to spend almost every working moment thinking and working on his science. Such deep moments of concentration are a prominent characteristic of genius. It is difficult to decide which was the most influential in his life, his environment or his genius. Without genius it seems he could |
