Following Eyring's release from the General Sunday School Board, his next major Church calling came in 1974, when he was called to the High Council of the Salt Lake Bonneville Stake, a position he has held to the present time (l980). His principal duties as a high councilor have included advisor to the Stake Relief Society, Stake Seventies Quorum and membership on the Stake Welfare committee. One of the most important contributions was his organization of a cultural arts program for the stake. Each month, a prominent authority on some subject has presented a stimulating lecture to the members of his stake. The program has been continued with gratifying success since its inception in l974.28 Eyring faithfully attends meetings of the High Council in his stake and -takes his responsibility as seriously as any of his Church callings.
