Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

The field notes will be prepared ( accord accord- accord ) ing to special instructions together with the plats , and sent to the Commissioner for acceptance . The official field notes ( will -will will ) contain no different matter as far as actual surveys are concerned . . ( R . 3387-3388 . ) There are no other meanderings on either of these rivers , either official or unofficial , that are not shown on ( Defendant's Defendants ) Exhibit 11 and ( Plain Plain- Plain ) ( tiff's tiffs ) Exhibit No . 472 . No meanderings that have been executed by the Public Survey office ; ( every every- every ) thing they have done is shown on that map . ( R . 3389 . ) He states that he does not know if ( meander meander- meander ) ings are executed by other departments of the Government . ( R . 3389 . ) He knows that the ( Geo- Geo ) logical ( Survey Sui-vey Suivey ) has surveyed the rivers but ( doesn't doesnt ) think they meandered it according to the system of the Public Survey Office . The Geological Survey map is a topographic map of the rivers , but it is his understanding they made ( no -no no ) ( attempt attenipt ) to fix the meander lines . ( R . 3390 ) CHARLES F .
