Show froin there went on down 530 to the Gooseneck , located in the vicinity of ( Mexican fexicaii ) Hat on the San Juan , ( Hiver River ) . He was seeking ( dam dain ) sites to be surveyed by the party . He found a desirable dam site at the ( so-called socalled ) Gooseneck , and made ( liis his ) way back to Bluff , and ( "back back back ) to the party which was working on the ( Do- Do ) lores River . After the completion of the work on the Dolores River , they moved to Bluff , ( and aild ) began a ( topo- topo ) graphic survey of the dam and reservoir site . He was not with the party all the time , as his duties were seeking reservoir and dam sites , to be later surveyed . ( R . ( 1834r-1835 1834r1835 1834-1835 ) . ) This dam , site he is referring to is what appears on the Reclamation Bureau map of 1928 , Compl . Exhibit 2 , as Bluff dam site . ( R . 1835 . ) In going down the San Juan River from Arboles to Mexican Hat , he was frequently in sight of the ( river -river river ) , as that was part of his work . He traversed the river bed practically all of the distance from Farmington to Arboles ; and from Farmington ( tol- tol ) Bluff ( Utah T-Ttah TTtah ) ( he lie ) followed the roads that lead down , , the river .
