Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Show ( Ho He ) ( continued continned ) to make 397 notations of the difficulties Jn ( navigation na-vigation navigation ) as he passed Indian ( Creek Creel- Creel ) , [ on ( trip txip ) . down the Colorado River ] on down to about five miles below the confluence , [ of the Green and ( Colo-- Colo ) rado Rivers ] and continued to ( make inake ) ( observations- observations ) ( with Nvith ) reference to the difficulties up the Green ( River River- River ) to mile 34 . ( R . 1364 . ) He found other structures and put up notices ( of of' of ) intention to make application for permit at ( sev-- sev ) eral places below [ Indian Creek ] and the ( nota- nota ) tions of difficulties coincided with . the trip ( down- down ) stream and the finding of the structures . The structures noted below Indian Creek were one ( be- be ) tween miles 7 and 11 on the Colorado River and one ( at tit ) milepost 2 % on the Colorado River . A ( third thixd- thixd ) on the Green River at milepost 32 . ( R . 1365-66 . ) . By structure he means indications of oil , the , ( forma- forma ) tions are arched .
