Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Show about fifty townships along 712 the Colorado ( Biver River ) . ( R . 2826-2827 ) ( Recalled Becalled ) . Further ( cross-GxatmMiation crossGxatmMiation ) ( R . , Vol . ( 1.8 18 ) , pp . 3386-3393 ) : There have been produced ( here liere ) a map and also an exhibit consisting of a few sheets indicating the area along the rivers where the streams have been meandered . Attention called to ( Defendant's Defendants ) ( Ex- Ex ) hibit No . 11 , consisting of one sheet only instead of two . ( Complainant's Complainants ) Exhibit No . 472 was ( there- there ) upon marked by the reporter , and also ( Plaintiff's Plaintiffs ) Exhibit No . 472 . These two exhibits were prepared under his direction . ( R . 3386 . ) He believes that the two exhibits were prepared under his direction from official records of the Public Survey Office . The unaccepted surveys are those the surveyors executed in the field , and had not finally prepared their ( notes -notes notes ) and the plats had not been accepted by the General Land Office . ( R . 3386 . ) The plats of the accepted surveys are on file in the local land office and the field notes of the ( un-' un ) accepted meanders were in the survey office ; plats would be prepared during the winter and then transferred to the General Land Office for ( accept accept- accept ) ance . The exhibits were executed from the working diagram which , is maintained in , his office and are on file there . The ( surveyor's surveyors ) field notes are also on file on all the unaccepted meanderings . ( R . . |
