Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( "black black 'black black ) boat ; ; on down to well No . 2 , 8 miles farther , with ( 16-ft 16ft ) . rowboat and outboard motor ; blaelc boat was operated by Clarence Baldwin and the outboard motor Mr Swanhohn was operated by . . . ( Going G-oing Going ) down stream in black boat he was held up . a few minutes sticking on bars . River much lower . than when ( he lie ) was there in ( May "Aiay Aiay ) ; and when ( mean- mean ) dering below ( Moab Afoab ) ( stuck stucl ) in mud a good many times . This was latter part of September and early October , 1926 . ( R . 2679 . ) He assisted in ( -survey survey ) work and crossed river eight or ten times ; ; crossed at points commencing 6 or 8 miles below Moab and running down 8 and 10 miles . Observed that channel changed a good many times during three or four days .
