Show 386 He is familiar with the country in and about the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers , and the scope of his knowledge of that country is : That from 1921 up until 1927 lie was employed by the ( Midwest 'Nfidwest Nfidwest ) Refining Company in geological work , and the greater part of his work was in a corner adjacent to the Four Corners , that is , the corners of Colorado , Utah , Arizona and New ( Mexico Alexico ) . . ( This- This ) necessarily took him on both sides of the Colorado , and Green Rivers , the area in between , and clear down into Arizona and parts of New ( T'Nfexicoi TNfexicoi ) He has personally been over that country that lies , between ( Moab TUoab ) and the junction of the Green and Colorado Rivers and on both sides of the ( Colorado- Colorado Colorado ) . River . ( R . 1339 . ) The character of the country there in general from Moab to the confluence of the two rivers ( con-- con ) sists of a high plateau area which has been ( deeply- deeply ) dissected by the various ( streams streanis ) that flow into the Colorado . By that he ( means ineans ) the Colorado River has entrenched itself to a great depth ; ; these ( side' side ) , streams have worked their way and cut their way down to the same level as the Colorado River . . In like manner , the Green River has done the same thing , only on the upper reaches of the Green River ; that part immediately below Green River have softer sediments , which have been eroded down with greater ease . The result is , have less precipitous banks to our streams , , and the river is more accessible for some distance down entire |
