Show t & , fe 29 the river ; the operation is under the constant supervision of the District Engineer . At all ( gaug- gaug ) stations there is a local resident that generally winds the clock of the local gauge and sees that it Is running and oiled , and he may possibly remove the record . . Outside of that his functions stop , except to see that the gauge is in operation . . The measurements of flow are made by a competent engineer from the district office . ( R . 148-149 . . ) At the present time gauging stations are ( main- main ) tained at Cisco , Utah , about thirty miles upstream from Moab , Utah ; Lees ( Perry Ferry ) , Arizona ; ( Q-rand Qrand Grand ) Canyon and Topock , Arizona . These stations are on the Colorado River . ( R . 149 . ) The information which has been gathered on the flow of the Green and Colorado Rivers , so far as this case is concerned , was obtained at the Lees Ferry , Greenriver , and Cisco stations . ( R . 1-49 . ) The San Juan records give the best information available as to the flow at any time and are of ( in- in ) terest in connection with the Colorado River in this way . . For instance , the witness [ Clyde L . Eddy ] ] this morning was somewhat in doubt as to the stream flow during the flood ; he had the gauge height at Lees ( Perry Ferry ) . . Now , , if he was above San Juan , the San Juan record is needed to determine what the flow was above the San Juan ; in order to 1Z get idea it is necessary to determine the flow above the San Juan and substract that at Lees Perry . . It comes into the picture as the main tributary . |
