Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Stillwater Canyon is more confined ( within Nvdthiii ) ledges ; there are open spaces with sand bars . There are some riffles but not as bad as they are higher up ( ; - ) they become more calm down ( farther fartlier ) in the canyon and the water is very shallow in places where it is wide . He has been through Cataract Canyon twice but did not run the rapids . In his opinion , there were forty rapids in Cataract Canyon but he ( doesn't doesnt ) know the exact number .
