Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

He ( didn't didnt di'dn't didnt ) have any cabin ; just a tent , and it was located at the ( month mouth ) of Montezuma wash fifteen to ( eighteen eigliteen ) miles ( east cast ) of ( Bluff Blu-ff- Bluff ) . He ( doesn't doesnt ) believe ( he lie ) ( came canie ) ( down down- down ) : , the river after Bluff was established . He moved on up . ( R . 418 . ) He ( doesn't doesnt ) ( remember reinember ) any trappers down the river from ( Bluff Bliilf ) , and there were very few ( fur-bearing furbearing ) ( animals aiihnals ) . The ( fur-bearing furbearing ) animals were mostly up above Bluff . ( He Ile ) believes the trappers ( had bad ) their boats , but when they came down to Bluff he ( be- be ) lieves they would take their burros and come that way . Above Bluff the country is very level and the river ( has lias ) very little fall . The river is not now ( more niore ) or less confined above Bluff .
