( Blake Blal-ce Blalce ) was boatman , and he , ( Lint Lhit ) , ( was vntis ) a ( boat boat- boat ) man . ( ( E R ) . 1491 . ) The ( purpose pnrpose ) of the trip was to run river traverse for a map and also for dani sites . Started in with the traverse at ( Smith's Smiths ) ranch . ( ( E R ) . 1491 . ) Went with the purpose of ( sur- sur ) ( veying veyiug ) any possible reservoir sites which they ran across . ( ( E R ) . 1492 . ) The possible reservoir site that was surveyed in the 1921 trip was at Lees ( Perry Ferry ) , Arizona . Had plenty of rapids through there [ Split Mountain Canyon ] , kept us pretty busy . ( ( E R ) . 1492 . ) ( Prom From ) then on down had these difficulties . In ( Hell's Hells ) Half Mile had plenty of ( dif- dif ) ficulty there , had to portage ; they carried all the equipment around ; ran the rapids with empty boats , and Mr . Loper and Blake got through ( with with- with ) out any serious trouble ; Mr . Loper hit his boat on a rock , and a wave set his on top of one ; they had to throw him a rope . Took considerable time ( be- be ) fore he could get the boat pulled off the rock . ( ( E R ) . 1493 . ) This was in Lodore Canyon . In ( Deso Deso- Deso ) ¬ lation Canyon they encountered rapids just the same as the rest of - it ; it was all ( rapids rapid--- rapid ) . Lees Ferry , when they were there , there was one man living there , the water resource ( branchi branch ) gauger ; his name was Cockrough ; he , Cockrough , also ran the ferry there ; when anyone came to cross , lie would take them across on the ferry .
