Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Show side so had a sort of a raft 228 , you might call it , three boats side by side ; they were all propelled with this outboard motor ; ( didn't didnt ) use oars , at all . ( R . 824- 825 . ) So had a ( boat'about boatabout ) between twelve and fifteen feet wide ; and once in a while he would loosen his boat and drag it behind the other two , for the sake of making motion pictures from the deck of the boat , of their progress , and would get their boats in the pictures ; then would come back to his ( posi posi- posi ) tion at the side of the boat . Have one motion ( pic- pic ) ture made where they ran onto a sand bar and ( had bad ) considerable difficulty in Stillwater Canyon getting off and finding the deeper channel , but ( didn't didnt ) have as much trouble there as they had in Labyrinth , because the river is confined by ( walls -walls walls ) ( which -which which ) come pretty close to the water , it ( didn't didnt ) give it the opportunity of meandering ; does not know that there are any islands sticking above the water in Stillwater Canyon . ( R . 825-826 . ) Similar trouble was encountered in Stillwater Canyon , though not as much as in Labyrinth ( 'Canyon Canyon Canyon ) . The party arrived at the mouth of the Green River September 15th and camped just above the junction . The junction was passed at an early hour September 16th and the survey commenced . Slow ( progress Proaress ) was made from that time on and he does not remember encountering any difficulties between the mouth of the Green River and ( Cata- Cata ) ract Canyon .
